You know, I always thought the censors had something to do with Hitchcock telling us the villains got caught when it definitely looked like they got away with it. I didn't mind it a lot and well, you can always skip that part. Hehe. One More Mile to Go is one of my favorites. It really has you pulling for the guy to get away with it and then you wonder what in the hell you're thinking. He just killed his wife for God's sake. Haha. And I love how they just show the murder happen and we don't know what they're saying. The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a crazy one. Haha. I didn't think they were going to go that far but it was awesome. I actually really love the Revenge pilot episode where the woman points out her attacker to her husband with...no great results. It's definitely one of my favorite shows. I can also understand how you couldn't find a lot of this great pulp and noir stuff before the internet. It made a huge world of difference. Great episode, Philly. Awesome stuff. I could talk about this show forever.

Great episode, Big Philly. Love all things Hitchcock (esp. Rear Window, Shadow of a Doubt, North by Northwest). My favorite TV episode is still the very first one, Revenge, with Ralph Meeker and Vera Miles. That twist knocked me out! Fave Hitch writers Cornell Woolrich/William Irish and Talmadge Powell. I have a collection of 25 Powell stories he did for the magazine.

Oh yeah, and I wanted to add I totally agree with you about Ross Macdonald! Met him once, Kenneth Millar, at his Santa Barbara home with some other UCSB students. He was a nice, quiet man...that translated to Lew Archer. Not enough blood in Archer's veins! Give me Hammer or Marlowe.

I had a feeling you'd enjoy this episode, and I'm glad you did. It wasn't until I prepared the bullet points for this when I realized how directly this show influenced me as both a reader and writer.

As I said, North By Northwest was my original top film by Hitch, but Vertigo took that slot.

I'm glad to hear "Ross" was a good guy. I always try not to get personal when I criticize writing, but at the same time the audience deserves my true opinions. Archer was very passive and the plot could have used maybe the help of Plotman himself. Thanks for listening and chiming in. Feel free to share with likeminded fans.

I had some tech issues on TKZ but I wanted to say on Sunday I snapped up Down These Streets.
